During last summer, I went to Washington DC for a total of nine days. The reason that I went to Washington DC was because I am a member of a political activist group. I won’t get into the specifics of the group I am a part of (because I don’t think there is any need to bring up politics on this type of blog), but I just wanted to clarify the reason that I was in Washington DC.
Although we had some serious business to take care of during our time in Washington, we weren’t involved in the activism side of our trip twenty-four hours a day, so we did have some time to enjoy ourselves during the trip. Because Washington is such a culturally rich place, it was not challenging at all to find plenty of great sites to visit during our down time. Overall, we not only had a great time experiencing the typical tourist attractions of Washington, but we were also successful in achieving the goal for our activist group. I plan on being involved with this group for many years, and I look forward to taking another trip with them to Washington DC someday.
